The Peace Committee of the Republic of Somaliland is a national institution established by Presidential Decree No. 01/012025 on 21 January 2025. Its core mandate is to promote peace, unity, and stability across all regions of Somaliland.

Our mission is to build a peaceful, united Somaliland, where compromise, consultation, justice, and consensus form the foundation for sustainable development.

To achieve this, the Peace Committee fosters dialogue among different parties, strengthens community-based conflict resolution, and develops lasting solutions. We also advise the government on policies and strategic plans that advance peace and stability, while building strong partnerships with local and international stakeholders.

Guided by principles of transparency, impartiality, inclusivity, and respect for both Islamic Sharia and Somaliland’s laws, we engage all sectors of society in meaningful dialogue and consensus-building.

We call on all citizens to embrace tolerance, reject violence, and actively promote peace and unity. Together, we can overcome divisions, strengthen our national identity, and secure a brighter future for Somaliland.
